Effective teaching of mathematics requires practitioners to help children see themselves as young mathematicians, taking risks, thinking creatively and stretching their imaginations. My strength is my ability to work with a variety of schools, to develop mathematics skills in key stage 1 and into key stage 2. My wide range of skills and expertise enable me to produce high quality training and resources. Creating bespoke training and support for schools has been a key aspect of my work for many years and I seek continually to support teaching and non-teaching staff to make a significant impact on children’s learning. Providing support for mathematics subject leaders has focused on securing sustainable improvement, capacity building and developing bespoke training to improve the teaching of mathematics.
